Established in April 1985 as a non-profit organization, the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation raises funds for medical equipment for T&DH beyond those available from other sources. The Foundation is committed to fundraising activities through donors and potential donors to support the acquisition of capital equipment, major renovations, and future building expansion. These activities are undertaken for the benefit of the patients of the Timmins and District Hospital.

Life is unpredictable. Whether young or old we cannot predict what health concerns our families and we will be faced with. To ensure that our needs will be met in our own district with state-of-the-art medical equipment, we must support our district hospital-Timmins and District Hospital.

Our Health…Our Future…Thanks To You
The T&DH Foundation has embarked on its "Our Health…Our Future…Thanks To You" campaign. The Foundation appropriately titled the campaign as such because our health and the health of our loved ones is very precious. As long as we have our health, the future is ours. It is because of the generous financial support of people just like you that the Foundation, through the purchase of vital medical equipment, is able to contribute to your healthy future.

The Foundation's campaign goal is to generate $2 million between January 2002 and December 2004 to continue the purchase of state-of-the-art medical equipment. Because medical technology is constantly evolving, the Foundation's efforts to raise funds to provide the latest advancements to you, the patients of the hospital, must be continuous.

The quality of health care that we offer to you improves by having this equipment available. Also, the need for travelling for testing, treatment, or consultation is reduced by having technology closer to home. Finally, our ability to recruit and retain general practitioners and specialists improves as they are often attracted by the prospect of practising with the most advanced technologies.
