Media Release : Staff at Home Depot Donate a 32” Flat Screen TV for Children Receiving Care at T&DH

The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that staff at Home Depot donated a 32” flat screen TV with built in DVD to the paediatrics department at T&DH. The funds were raised through weekly soup sales among staff. On hand for the photo-op from Home Depot are Joe Leblond, Store Manager, and Louis Fortin, Viviane Lamothe, Associates, and from T&DH is Natalie Carle, Program Manager Maternal/Child and Christine Corbeil, RN.

On hand to present the pledge is Jeremy Pietila, Operations Manager, and Brian Bielaskie, Sales Manager. A Star is Born : Gary Marriott Wins the De Beers Canada Victor Mine Diamond Thanks to Ticket No. 241

Yesterday, Gary Marriott became the lucky winner of a $20,000 1 carat diamond donated by De Beers Canada Victor Mine. The $25,000 prize package includes the 1 carat diamond, the mounting of a pendant or a ring up to $1,000 donated by Cousineau Fine Jewellery, the transportation of the diamond donated by Brinks Canada, and a day trip for two to the De Beers Canada Victor Mine in Attawapiskat and the cutting and polishing plant in Sudbury. The diamond, which has just been cut and polished from Ontario’s first diamond mine, was part of a draw organized in support of the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation’s 2007-2009 “Give… for the Health of it!” Campaign.

The Timmins and District Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that the Timmins and District Hospital Auxiliary presented a $90,000 cheque towards the ophthalmology services at T&DH. Presenting the cheque on behalf of the T&DH Auxiliary are Ann Rudd-Robins, President, Mary Jordan, Treasurer, Erika Petersen-Leone, Secretary, Agnes Nadon, First Vice-President, and Edna Vire, Second Vice-President Accepting the donation on behalf of the Foundation are Dr. Alejandro Oliver, Ophthalmologist, Carmen Quesnel, Ophthalmology Nurse, Allan Kean, Chairperson of the T&DH Board of Directors, and Dave McGirr and Gabriel Provost, 2007-2009 “Give… for the Health of it!” Campaign Co-Chairs.
